Linux XGL : A new era of 3D Graphics
Xgl is an X server architecture layered on top of OpenGL. It will give your desktop a virtual 3D cube effect and it provides much more featured effects (as I saw in screen shots in freedesktop.org). I saw this XLG feature about ten months back in one of my friend’s pc on FC3 and I think at that time it was in early development stages. Novell has contributed to this project since late 2004. You can download the source from freedesktop.org and give it a try which will worth spending some time on it but remember the project is still in progress.
